Women's Intercommunity AIDS Resource (WIAR)

Medical Marijuana

In November 1998, Washington voters passed Initiative 692 regarding the use of marijuana for certain terminal or debilitating conditions.  The initiative allows some patients and their primary care givers to possess and use a limited amount of marijuana for medical use.  Individuals who are interested in using marijuana for medical purposes must work with their physician to obtain the necessary documentation.  Providers with questions can contact George Heye at the Medical Quality Assurance Commission 360-236-4795.
